The Technology & Communications team, led by partner Camila Borba Lefèvre, has extensive experience in advising clients with respect to all the legal aspects of technology related transactions and of digital communications, including regulatory and privacy related matters.

We advise several companies in the digital communications industry with respect to all the necessary steps in the implementation, adaptation, structuring and protection of new technologies and we are always ready to advise on new legislation. Our team has extensive experience in providing consultancy and helping companies in connection with obtaining necessary authorizations and licenses from Anatel, as well as other competent authorities.

New technologies have a transformative and disruptive across many sectors and industries and are an important factor in many transactions, regardless of the sector and industry involved.

Our team has experience in advising technology suppliers and users, being able to assist in transactions involving:

• transfer of technology, data and other digital assets;
• strategic alliances and joint ventures; and
• projects involving cloud computing, systems migration, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

We also work in intensive cooperation with the Corporate and M&A team in corporate transactions involving technology, in due diligence and in the preparation and review of technology transfer agreements, transitional services agreements, among others, to support corporate transactions.‍

Personal Data Protection

The regulation of the use of personal data in Brazil was significantly enhanced due to the entry into force of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), raising Brazil to the level of other countries that already regulated the subject.

We have a highly specialized team in data protection, data governance and privacy. We advise companies in the processes of adapting and maintaining the business in accordance with data protection legislation as well as with respect to legal and regulatory aspects of the digital world.
