We have over 20 years of experience in the practice of maritime law featuring an experienced team representing domestic and foreign companies. Our “one-stop-shop” concept provides a multidisciplinary approach towards contractual, tax, labor, arbitration and litigation issues in the Shipping and Offshore areas.
We provide administrative and judicial advice to vessel owners or charterers, shipping companies, offshore industry service providers, financial institutions, insurers, agents, organized ports or port terminals. The team advises in the preparation and analysis of various types of contracts, including shipbuilding, warehousing, transportation, charter parties, and others. We also advise clients on negotiating merger and acquisition contracts (M&A) and project finance.
We also represent clients in the event of major accidents and in all aspects involving environmental and cargo damage in connection with shipping activity, ports and terminals operations. We also advise in developing structures to prevent or mitigate administrative or judicial litigation and in disputes before the Maritime Court.
Due to our vast experience representing clientes before the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ) and the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM), we are always prepared to help minimize our clients exposure to natural business risks.
Emergency Response
Our team has been in charge of the biggest maritime accidents of the last 20 years, involving explosions, stranding, collisions, capsizing, fires, marine pollution and personal accidents, having in its history the two most serious accidents of the Brazilian offshore industry, both caused by explosions in maritime units.
We serve in any Brazilian port, through our own network of correspondents, with experience in dealing with maritime authorities, regulatory agencies, environmental agencies, class entities and other administrative bodies, reporting directly to insurers or Brazilian and foreign correspondents.
In case of emergency outside business hours, please contact: Bernardo Mendes Vianna (+55 21 99973-2491) l Erika Feitosa Chaves (+55 21 98134-2410).
